Cogknockers Indie Film Shoot – Crew FAQ

What’s a typical day on set like?

Shoot days usually run 4 to 8 hours, depending on the scene and light. Some days involve overnight camping in the desert. This is a true indie production, so expect to wear multiple hats and jump in where needed.

Where are we filming?

In and around remote desert locations—beautiful, raw, and unpredictable. Terrain may be rough, and weather conditions can vary widely between day and night.

What should I bring?
  • Sturdy boots or trail shoes
  • Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen
  • Layers (hot days / cold nights)
  • Headlamp or flashlight
  • Tent, sleeping bag, and gear (if camping)
  • Personal items and medications
  • Reusable water bottle
Are meals and water provided?

Yes. We provide meals, snacks, and plenty of water on set. Let us know in advance about any dietary restrictions.

Can I post on social media or take behind-the-scenes photos?

Absolutely! We love BTS content. Share your experience, tag @Cogknockers, and have fun—but please avoid spoilers or major reveals.

Do I need to sign anything?

Yes. All cast and crew must sign a waiver before participating. Cogknockers is not responsible for accidents, injuries, or loss/damage to personal property.

Are there COVID or safety protocols?

Yes. If you’re sick or symptomatic, please stay home and notify us. Hand sanitizer and masks will be available. A basic first aid kit is always on site, and safety is a shared responsibility.

Where do I go to the bathroom?

Depending on location, we’ll have:

  • Portable toilets
  • Designated bathroom areas
  • Camping-style setups for remote overnight shoots
How do I get to set?

We’ll coordinate carpools or rideshares as needed. Some desert locations may require high-clearance vehicles—we’ll give you a heads-up.

Can I bring a friend, pet, or drone?
  • Friends and drones: Check with production first.
  • Pets: Not allowed unless they’re scripted.
Will I be credited for all the roles I take on?

Yes! Everyone taking on multiple roles will be properly credited. We see the effort, and it matters.

How do we stay in touch and get updates?

We use Telegram for all communication:

  • Call times
  • Location details
  • Last-minute changes

Join the Telegram group, keep notifications on, and check it regularly. Call sheets are sent the night before each shoot.

What should I NOT bring?
  • Weapons or anything that resembles one (unless pre-approved prop)
  • Drugs or alcohol—this is a dry set
  • Expensive personal gear that could get damaged
  • Pets (unless cleared)
  • Bad vibes—this is a collaborative, creative, supportive space
