Behind the Camera: The Lovelock Film Crew
The soul of Lovelock lives not only in its story and performances, but in the extraordinary people behind the lens. Our film crew is a close-knit team of passionate creators—cinematographers, sound designers, production assistants, FX artists, editors, and more—working together to build a world from shadow and silence.
Each frame of Lovelock is shaped by hands that care deeply about craft, mood, and meaning. Many of us are local to Northern Nevada. Some are veterans of the indie film scene, while others are emerging talents donating time and vision to make something that feels real, raw, and timeless.
We believe in collaboration over ego, storytelling over spectacle, and working with intention—often in remote, challenging locations. From capturing natural light in the high desert to managing midnight shoots in caves and on riversides, our crew has poured heart, sweat, and soul into every scene.
This isn’t just a set—it’s a community. And everyone here showed up because they believe in what we’re making.

E.W. Key
Writer/Director
E.W. Key is a writer, director, and visual artist whose work explores silence, memory, and myth through atmospheric storytelling. With a background in fine art and experimental theater, Key brings a layered, symbolic style to filmmaking, often blending natural environments with psychological narratives. Lovelock marks his most personal and ambitious project to date—an independent feature shaped by illness, resilience, and a deep connection to the haunting landscapes of Northern Nevada.

Slackeye Slim
Composer
Slackeye Slim has been the de facto OG of the spaghetti western genre since 2006. Taking influence from an abrupt decision to move to Butte, Montana at the age of 21 and work as a classic country radio DJ, Slackeye Slim took a pause from his early influences in punk and metal and traded them in for country music, but eventually circled back and combined all three styles along with a heavy dose of western swagger to come up with a sound that was truly his own.
